One of the best things about ESPN.com is the NBA Trade Machine which lets you fiddle around with every possible trade scenario imaginable to see if it would or would not work.
Of course, this can lead to some pretty far-fetched moves:
But it can also lead to some pretty interesting scenarios. Take Zach Harper's post on TrueHoop for example. He figured out realistic scenarios for the other 29 teams in the Association to land disgruntled Minnesota big man Kevin Love.
Here is what Harper put together for the Sixers.
The deal: Trade Machine
76ers receive: Kevin Love and Kevin Martin
Wolves receive: Thaddeus Young, Jason Richardson, Nos. 3 and 10 picks in 2014
The Wolves get a young asset, cap relief and two lottery picks in this draft in exchange for Love and getting rid of Martin’s deal. It sounds like the Sixers are giving up a lot here, but they have assets to spare. You’re teaming Love with a defensive-minded center in Nerlens Noel and a pass-first point guard in Michael Carter-Williams. Plus, the Sixers still have room to add another major player.
So, would you do it?
