76ers Pre-Game Blog: 4/5/2014 vs. Brooklyn Nets

Match-Up:

The 76ers (17-59; 5th-Atlantic Division, 14th-Eastern Conference) wrap up their four-game season series with the Brooklyn Nets (41-34; 2nd-Atlantic Division, 5th-Eastern Conference).  Both teams played last night, with the 76ers earning a 111-102 road victory against another division rival, the Boston Celtics.  The Nets dropped the Detroit Pistons, 116-104, behind a 35-9 run that bridged the first and second quarters.

In what's turned out to be their most successful week of the season since a four-game spurt highlighted the first week of January, the Sixers have posted two wins over the last six days.  Prior to this stretch, the Sixers had managed just two wins in a 72-day period.

Brooklyn has compiled the best record in the Eastern Conference since the calendar flipped from 2013 to 2014.  The Nets' stood a season-high 11 games below the .500 mark (10-21) on December 31st; however, they've earned wins in 31 of their last 44 outings.  Tonight, Kevin Garnett returns to Brooklyn's line-up for the first time time in 20 games.  He last played on February 27th, before he was sidelined with back spasms. The 15-time All-Star is averaging 6.7 points and 6.7 rebounds this season.
