Jason Akeson's first career NHL Playoff game will certainly be a memorable one...for all the wrong reasons.
Akeson took a double-minor for high sticking Carl Hagelin after missing a check at the 7:35 mark of the third period. Brad Richards scored less than a minute later to make it 2-1 and then Derek Stepan pushed it to 3-1 a minute after that.
The Rangers ended up cruising to a 4-1 victory. While Akeson is an easy scapegoat, the Flyers inability to generate offensive chances -- they had just one shot in the third period and 15 in the game -- ultimately did them in.
The Flyers gotta steal one in MSG on Sunday. No other way around it.
