Flyers Give MacDonald Multi-Year Extension

The Flyers announced earlier this morning that they have signed defenseman Andrew MacDonald to a multi-year extension.

Dave Isaac of the Courier Post is reporting that the deal is six-years, $30 million.

MacDonald, 27, has had 4 assists in 19 games for the Flyers since being acquired for from the Islanders at the trade deadline for a 2014 third-round pick, a 2015 second-round pick and prospect Matt Mangene.

Overall, he has four goals and 28 points in 82 games this season and is one of just three players in the NHL to have more than 200 blocked shots (242). MacDonald is also -22 between both teams on the year.
