APRIL 11, NOVACARE COMPLEX – The Eagles today completed a trade with the Cleveland Browns, acquiring LB Emmanuel Acho in exchange for RB Dion Lewis.

Originally a sixth-round selection of the Browns in 2012, Acho (6-1, 240) missed the entirety of the 2012 season after being placed on Injured Reserve on 8/27/12 with a knee injury. Acho, 22, appeared in 48 games at the University of Texas, where he recorded 280 tackles, eight sacks, seven forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He started 13 games as a senior in 2011, garnering All-Big 12 first-team honors after leading the Longhorns with 131 tackles while adding three sacks, one interception and one forced fumble. While at Texas, he was twice honored with the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholarship Award, which recognizes minority student-athletes who are committed to both education and athletics.

A native of Dallas, TX, Acho attended St. Mark’s High School. His brother, Sam, was a fourth-round selection of the Arizona Cardinals in 2011.
