Vai Sikahema
Vai Sikahema is very well-known by Philly sports fans for his 19 years of diversified work in Philadelphia. First Vai played two seasons for the Eagles as he wrapped up an outstanding eight year NFL career that saw him make two Pro Bowls. He forever endeared himself to Philly fans in 1992 when he punched out the Giants logo after scoring a touchdown on a punt return. When his career was done Vai made a seamless transition to television as a sports anchor for NBC-10. As the Sports Director of NBC-10 Vai has garnered 2 Emmy Awards. Now Vai takes his substantial talent and passion for sports to the radio as the co-host of the "Vai Sikahema and Gonzo Show" along with Philadelphia Inquirer writer John Gonzalez. Vai's background as a native of Tonga contributes to the unique perspective he brings to the radio. As an accomplished Fire Dancer and as someone who has twice ran with the Olympic Torch Vai enjoys the life of a renaissance man. Who else can Fire Dance and also knock out Jose Canseco in just a minute and thirty seven seconds as Vai did for a charity event a few years ago! 97.5 The Fanatic is thrilled to have Vai on our team now!
John Gonzalez
"Gonzo," as John Gonzalez is affectionately known, brings a youthful energy and sharp sense of sports to 97.5 The Fanatic. A Philadelphia native who worked his way up the ranks of print and radio journalism in Dallas and Boston, Gonzo returned home to Philly in 2008 as a columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer. His aggressive writing style quickly caught the attention of sports fans and his journalistic diligence earned him the respect of his peers and those that he covers. Now Gonzo ventures forth into Philadelphia sports radio joining up with Vai Sikahema every weekday from 10:00 am - Noon. Gonzo provides an entertaining style on the air - always quick to crack a joke and have fun, but ready to provide strong opinions about what's going on. A Philly sports fan who busted it hard to get where he's at, Gonzo has already had a wild run, which even included a bid for the U.S. House of Representative in Texas! He finished third, which ain't all that shabby. Now Gonzo's run continues as he is gunning for #1 in the mid-days with his new show with Vai!
