Tom Byrne is one of those individuals that is vitally important to our radio station. He does a little bit of everything, and in the process has been a critical component of the growth of 97.5 The Fanatic. Tom’s main role with the station is anchoring the sports updates for Mike & Mike’s show, Dan Schwartzman’s program and the Tony Bruno Show. All told he does 24 updates daily! But Tom contributes in so many other ways with the station. He co-hosts the 97.5 The Fanatic Eagles Post-Game Show in addition to hosting a weekly Saturday afternoon program and shows at night during the week as well. Tom is an extremely opinionated host who leaves no doubt where he stands on an issue.
Tom’s rise in the broadcasting industry is a testament to how bad he wanted to flourish in sports and to the talent he possesses as a broadcaster. He started out as the voice of the Scranton Royals, calling the play-by-play of his college’s basketball team. Upon graduating he came back to the Philadelphia area and got on-air at 1490-AM WBCB in Levittown. He also worked in the television studio of Phonebet TV and was a writer for The Sports Network.
